Weekend in Nashville

On Thursday Keilani and I drove up to Nashville to go visit Ernie, Mindi, and Aiden. It took about 2 hours and 45 minutes to get there, which wasn't too bad. That night Mindi and I went to the CMA Music Fest. I was so excited because I've never been to a concert before and some of my favorite country artists were going to be performing (Rascal Flatts, Brad Pasley, Dirks Bentley). Anyway, about 2 hours into the concert Ernie called Mindi telling her that there was a tornado warning in the area and we should get ready to evacuate. Mindi and I were sitting in the upper bowl of LP field so Mindi thought we probably should move down to the bottom in case they evacuate us. About 20 minutes later they evacuated the stadium. I didn't realize how serious it was until people started running like mad out of the stadium. Luckily Mindi and I didn't get stuck in the crowd and we were able to make it to our car safely. The concert didn't resume until 1:00 am, so Mindi and I opted not to go back. Plus Rascal Flatts had already left because they had to perform somewhere else the next day. Though I didn't get to see my favorite country artists perform it was still a fun night hanging out with Mindi. On Friday we just hung out, went shopping, went out to eat, and made a fire in Mindi's backyard. That night TG called and told me that it was dumping in Memphis and that there was a tornado warning (the tornado actually touched town a little ways away). Then when he got home the power was out and the power company said that it could be a couple days before it would come back on. I decided that Keilani and I would stay at Mindi's until the power came back on. Well the power finally came back on by Saturday afternoon, so Keilani and I headed back home. We had so much fun up in Nashville. It's such a cool city. It was especially fun to watch Keilani interact with her cousin Aiden, they were so cute together.
Me and Mindi at the concert

Look at that bedhead

Keilani was trying to feed herself some puffs. I found most of them in her lap.

Notice how Keilani's hand is on Aiden's knee- so cute!

They kept each other company in the car.

Keilani thought this toy was the coolest thing

So fun, I hope that you are enjoying Tennessee. One of my best friends from dental school is from Memphis and she can't say enough great things about it. I will have to ask her if there is anything that you just have to do.

Oh my gosh that is so crazy! Natural disasters are my greatest fear so I don't know what I would have done in that situation. You would have seen me screaming and waving my arms in the air while pushing everyone out of my way. I'm so jealous you got to see Aiden and Mindi. I'm excited for next week.
