Alabama- April

Okay, so this is my attempt to try and update my blog from the summer.  I'm going to do it by months.  We had such a good summer this year.  We had so many wives and kids in our group it was like a party every day.  Our daily routine would be to hang out with TG in the mornings until he had to go to work around noon.  We would usually go swimming or the guys would play volleyball while the kids played.  We would then have lunch and the kids would nap.  After naps we would either going swimming or the kids would play at the sand box while us moms would sit in our lawn chairs chit chatting, it was the best.  We pretty much did that every day and the kids absolutely LOVED it.  Here are some pictures from the month of April.

Keilani went bowling for her first time in Alabama.  She loved it.

Keilani and one of her BFFs Vea.

So anyone who has ever lived in the south knows that they have bugs you've never seen before.  Well here is one of them that was right outside of our door.  I was so scared that it would fly into my house once I opened the door.  It was disgusting.

In April the weather was awesome.  It wasn't too cold or too hot, it was perfect.  Keilani loved this fake rock at our apartment complex.

I am so grateful for my incredible husband because without his photography skills we would have no pictures.  I tend to make fun of him because he ALWAYS has his phone in our kids' faces making them pose and smile for a picture, but I'm truly grateful for him.  He has captured so many milestones and cute moments of our kids.  TG would often have Keilani and Tau sit on our steps before we were about to go somewhere and take a few pics.  They always turned out cute.

We loved the Cracker Barrel while we were out there, but my favorite thing were these cute little rocking chairs.

The kids eating a bowl of popcorn on the kitchen floor.

Tau is obsessed with any kind of ball.

Tau LOVED throwing the pine needles into the road.

Trying out sister's scooter.

Keilani loves to wear my jewelery and high heels.

Yes, yes I'm a slacker.

Okay, so I know I vowed that I was going to be better at blogging a couple months ago, but I totally failed.  I have a good excuse though.  I started a masters program at the end of May and it's been really keeping me busy.  Back in February my sister Alisa and I thought we would be super ambitious and get our Master of Education and Administration degree :) I've always wanted to get my master's degree and I thought that this would be the perfect time for me to do it, mostly because TG has a really flexible schedule when he's not out selling during the summer.  We're getting it through SUU and hope to be finished with it in 2-2 1/2 years from now.  It's been 8 years since I graduated from BYU, so it's really weird getting back into the school mode of reading textbooks, taking quizes, doing assignments, and writing papers.  It's nice that Alisa is in the program with me because we can support one another.

I've been really wanting to update my blog, but it's been my last priority lately.  I'm going to do my best to get caught up and keep it current because it is the only journal I keep for our family.

We are still here in Alabama and have had soooo much fun these last 4 months with all our family and friends out here with us.  We will be driving home on July 22nd and look forward to seeing our friends and family back in Utah, but I'm especially excited to be able to sleep in my own bed again.

I plan on updating my blog here and there in the next week, so until then here are some pics:

I'm back!

Seriously, I've been such a slacker when it comes to blogging, but I didn't have my computer for 6 weeks, so that's my excuse.  I'm going to go back and blog about Jan, Feb, and March later, but I'll just give a little update on our family for this post.  We are out in Alabama for the summer.  TG came out in the middle of February and the kids and I joined him at the end of March.  We were away from each other for 6 weeks and it flew by, but it was super hard being away from each other.  I had a few moments where I broke down from the stress of being a single mom, but I survived and thankfully so did my kids ;)
We are LOVING it out here in Alabama.  The weather has been in the 80's, so we go to the pool and play outside all day every day.  Right now there are 16 kids in the office ranging in ages from 10 months-5 years old.  There are six more kids that will join us in the next couple weeks.  Keilani and Tau love having so many friends to play with every single day.  We all live in the same apartment complex, so it's a constant party.  It's funny because I feel like we're freaks of nature at our complex because people will just sit and stare at us with all of our kids like they've never seen so many kids before.  Then people find out we are from Utah, so they probably think we're polygamists or something.

Some of the kids in our group before our Easter egg hunt.
TG, the kids, and I went to Crackerbarrel one day for breakfast and afterward we sat outside while Keilani sat in a cute little rocking chair.  It was a warm day with a slight breeze, country music was playing in the background, every person passed us with a friendly smile and nod.  Right at that moment I thought to my self, "I just love the South," and seconds later TG said, "I love the South."  There is just something about the people in the South.  I noticed it when we lived in Tennessee, Mississippi, and now Alabama.  They are super friendly, courteous, and always willing to give a hand.

I promise to update my blog at least weekly.  Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks.

Christmas Festivities

We real tried to jam pack all the holiday festivities because we were gone on our cruise for a week of December.  We went and saw Santa Claus at the Riverwoods.  That Santa was the most real Santa that I've ever seen, he was awesome.  Keilani LOVED him, but Tau not so much.  Maybe next year?

"I don't know about this, guys."

 "Get me out of here!"

We went to Temple Square with my entire family and though it was pretty chilly, it was a ton of fun.

We went to Temple Square again when TG's parents, Tialei, Spencer, and Keli'i got to Utah.  That night was even colder than the night we went with my family, but we bundled up and it ended up being such a fun night.

Most of the Wesley family minus Tai.

On Christmas Eve we went over to Carli and Tika's and made cookies to set out for Santa Claus.
We then went over to Mandy and Daren's to open gifts with my family.
