We're Pregnant!

Yep we're pregnant! I am exactly 14 weeks today. My due date is December 23. I'm hoping to have the baby a little early so I won't be humongous and uncomfortable for Christmas, but if I don't it's fine. TG and I are so excited and don't care if it's a boy or girl as long as it's healthy. Being pregnant is such a unique and awesome experience, except for the sick part. I started feeling sick at 6 weeks and it lasted until about 13 weeks. I'm just glad that I'm starting to get my normal appetite back. I still can't stand the smell or taste of chicken, which is crazy because before being pregnant I ate chicken almost every day. I also can't watch the Food Network Channel, it still makes me a little queasy. We feel so blessed that Heavenly Father would give us the privilege of bringing a new little soul into this world. We can't wait! We love you all!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Today is TG and my 3 year anniversary. I can't believe that we've been married for 3 years now. Time has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday we went on our first date to Chili's. Being married to TG these last 3 years has been wonderful! He is such a great husband and provider. My favorite thing about TG is how much he makes me laugh. Before I met TG I dated a guy that was really nice, but sooo boring. After I stopped dating him I told my mom, "the next guy I date is going to be hilarious and make me laugh." I met TG a month later and I can definitely say I have never met someone that could make me laugh more than TG. I love him so much and I'm proud to call him my husband and eternal companion. I love you TG!

Sweet California!

I've been here in California for over a week and I haven't blogged about it yet. TG and I are living in Oxnard, CA which is right by Ventura, CA. TG is selling security systems for APX Alarm. TG's brother Tika is also out here working, so his family is out here also. It's been fun hanging out with his wife, Carli and her two cute kids, Kelly and Kai. The weather is perfect out here. It's about 10 minutes from the coast, so it doesn't get too hot. I've just been taking it easy and enjoying not having a job. Surprisingly I haven't been bored at all. I usually fill my day by reading, going to the pool, working out, going to the grocery store, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and going to the park. Sounds pretty rough huh. I'm just enjoying this time off while I can because I know once school starts up after the summer I'm will be on the go again. I wish I had pictures to post, but I've been awful at taking pictures out here. I will do better.

I've Been Tagged

So my friend Heather tagged me a week ago, so here it goes.

How To Play This Game of Tag: Post these rules on your blog... List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

JOYS

1. My sweet husband. He takes such good care of me and has made me laugh every single day that I've known him. He works so very hard every day. I love him so much.

2. My family. I am definitely a family person. I love hanging out with my family and TG's family. The best memories I have are with family. I hate it when visiting family have to go back home. I wish that all our family lived in Utah, so I could be with them more.

3. The gospel. I can't imagine how different my life would be without the gospel. I know that without the gospel I would not be where I am today. The gospel constantly brings joy into my life and I am truly grateful for it. I would be lost without it.

FEARS

1. Something bad happening to someone that I love.

2. Drowning. I've always had a fear of drowning, so that's why I freak out when people try to dunk me in a pool. People think they are doing something playful until they see my reaction. TG knows he is not allowed to even pretend that he is going to dunk me and he's never tried.

3. Not being well-prepared for a disaster. I need to be better at getting my food storage together and then maybe this wouldn't be one of my fears.

GOALS

1. Learn how to sew. I first need to get a sewing machine. I've always admired people who could sew and I really think I would enjoy it.

2. Recycle. I want to be better at recycling. I feel that I throw away so many things that could be recycled. Plus, I am the queen of throwing things away because I HATE junk, so I know that if I start recycling it would definitely benefit our earth.

3. Getting a Master's degree and eventually a Ph.D. This has always been a goal of mine that I hope to accomplish one day.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS

1. Making sure that the lights are off in the rooms that TG and I are not in. I've just been more aware of how much energy TG and I use. My little brother was living with us and it drove me crazy that he would leave his room with his light and tv on. He got a lot better after I pestered him about it.

2. I have an obsession of collecting children's books. I could probably fill a small library with my books. Not really, but I do have quite a few. I keep them all in my classroom. I am obsessed with keeping them well kept, which I know will change once I have children who want to read them. I use them as read alouds, but my students know that they aren't aloud to read the books that I own. I learned after the first year of teaching that it only takes a couple of 6 year old children reading a book to ruin it. I know you're probably thinking I'm heartless, but I have hundreds and hundreds of books around my classroom that are specifically for my students to read. They have quite the variety of books to choose from.

3. Trying to be more echo friendly.

A fun weekend

It's been a couple weeks since I last blogged. I'm still getting used to this blogging business. I just never know what to put on my blog. These last couple weeks were pretty boring. My last day of school was on Friday, so my summer has officially started!! I've decided not to get a summer job and just be a beach bum in California. TG has been working in California since April and I'm going out there on Wednesday!! I plan on reading all the books I've wanted to read this year, but never got a chance to read. I also want to learn how to sew. We'll see how that goes.

This last weekend my sister Mindi, her husband Ernie, and their adorable son Aiden came to visit from Tennessee. I was so excited for them to come because I hadn't seen them since Christmas and even more, I hadn't met my new nephew Aiden. They came in on Saturday and we all hung out that night. On Sunday, Aiden was blessed. I am so glad they decided to bring Aiden out here for his blessing, so we could all be there. If you notice I only have pictures of Aiden because those were the only ones I took this weekend. There are a couple of him sleeping. On Sunday night he zonked out and we had to try to wake him up so Mindi could feed him, but he would not wake up. He was out cold. It was so cute.
