He's here!!

Tolotau Tiu Wesley was born on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 8:03 pm weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and was 20 inches long. I was scheduled to be induced this morning (Friday), but this little guy had a different idea. Yesterday I went in for my 39 week check up and was dilated to a 3 and was 80% effaced. After the appointment I picked up Keilani from my sister-in-law's house and headed home. I had just finished eating my lunch when a gush of fluid ran down my leg after I stood up. I wasn't sure if it was my water, but as I walked it continued to gush. I called a couple people to see what they thought and everyone said it sounded like my water broke, so I tried to clean up as best as I could. In the mean time Keilani had got into some travel size shampoo and decided to put it all over her face. So I had to clean her up, then change her poopy diaper, and try to throw some things in a bag because I hadn't even backed a bag for the hospital yet. Luckily my sister-in-law Mandy was a life saver and met me at the hospital so she could take Keilani. I went to labor and delivery and they had me sit in a room for about 20 minutes and were going to test the fluid to make sure it was amniotic fluid that was leaking. When the nurse checked me I was sitting in a huge puddle of fluid, so she said that it was obvious that my water had broke. I was admitted around 2:30 pm and once they hooked my IV they started the pitocin. The nurse told me that I could get the epidural at anytime, but I wanted to see how much I could take before getting the epidural. I had no idea that without amniotic fluid the contractions were going to hurt even more once they started the pitocin. After about an hour of intense contractions, I couldn't take it anymore and ordered the epidural. It then took the nurse anesthetist another 30 minutes to finish up with another patient, but once I had the epidural I was in heaven. At that point I was dilated to a 5 and then it only took me about an hour to completely dilate to a 10. I was ready to push, but had to wait 10 minutes for the doctor to get to the hospital. I pushed for 30 minutes which isn't bad compared to the 2 1/2 hours it took me to push out Keilani, but it still took a lot to get him out. Tau looks just like Keilani did when she was born, but his cheeks are a little bigger. It's crazy how much I love this little guy already, I can't get enough of him. TG and I feel so blessed to have Tau join our family. Here are some pictures we took last night:

Our Birthday Girl!

Keilani turned two today. It seems like this past year went by much faster than her first. We celebrated her birthday with my family a couple nights ago and will celebrate it again when TG's parents come to town. I was a mean mom and scheduled her 2 year check up for today, but it was the only appointment they had opened until January. Her stats were:

Weight: 26.2 lbs- 40th percentile
Height: 34.5 inches- 60th percentile
Head: I can't remember her measurements, but I'm sure it's big. She's always had a bigger head.

Here are some things about Keilani at 2 years old.
-She talks up a storm and surprises us daily with the words that she knows.
-Loves to help around the house. If I give her a wipe she will automatically start wiping the walls or floor.
-She loves to eat peas and corn.
-Her favorite shows to watch are Barney, Yo Gabba, Gabba, and The Wiggles.
-Her favorite movies to watch are Mary Poppins and Pollyanna.
-Sleeps in a big bed and does great in it.
-Loves to dance and sing to music.
-Is great at jumping, kicking and throwing a ball.
-Loves to read books and have books read to her.
-Is obsessed with her cousin Cutler.
-Loves to color and draw.
-Is a fast runner.

We love you so much Keilani and hope you had a great 2nd birthday.

Here are some pictures from today. She obviously wasn't too thrilled about getting her picture taken.
