Christmas

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays mostly because it's filled with spending time with family and eating lots and lots of delicious food. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to enjoy Christmas as much this year because I thought I'd for sure still be uncomfortably pregnant (my due date was supposed to be December 23). I'm glad that Keilani decided to come early. She definitely is the best Christmas present TG and I could have asked for. She is so much fun, even though she has stained almost every one of her newborn outfits with poop.
Well our Christmas festivities started out on Christmas Eve. We were so lucky to spend time with both our families on Christmas Eve and Christmas. We ate lunch with TG's family at Mi Ranchito (a Wesley favorite). Then we spent Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning with my family and then we were back with TG's family on Christmas night.

Two weeks old

Well Keilani is almost two weeks old and I thought it was about time to post some more pictures of her. These past two weeks have been fun as well as exhausting. Keilani had a little bit of Jaundice, so she had to spend a couple days in a bilibed. The first night was awful. We had to put her on the bilibed in just her diaper. She absolutely hated it and cried the entire night. The next day my sister-in-law, Mandy, gave me a great idea. She explained how to do a bed roll where you roll a blanket and put it around the baby, so they feel secure. It was the best thing ever and Keilani was able to sleep on the bilibed. On Monday the doctor told me that Keilani didn't need the bilibed anymore. My mom stayed with me for about 5 days and she was so great. She would hold Keilani while I caught up on my sleep. She also cooked, cleaned, and did my laundry. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing mom who is always willing to help in any way she can.
Keilani also had her first bath at only 4 days old. The hospital forgot to take off the clamp on her cord, so when we went back to the hospital to have it removed the entire cord came off with the clamp. I thought that Keilani would like her bath, but was I ever wrong. She cried the entire time. I figured it was because she was cold and our bath is too big, so she didn't feel very secure. Since then I have purchased a sponge bath to put it her bath and she has liked bath time a lot more.
At two weeks Keilani sleeps most of the day and then wakes up a couple times during the night. I think she has her days and nights mixed up and I try to keep her up during the day, but it's sometimes impossible. I just hope one of these days she decides that she wants to sleep for longer that 3 hours at a time during the night.

An Early Christmas Present

TG and I got a early Christmas present, Keilani. Keilani Wesley was born on Sunday, December 7 at 9:43 pm. She weighs 7 lbs and 4 oz and is 18.5 inches long. It all started on Friday night. TG and I had just gotten home from watching Provo beat Lone Peak in basketball. I started to have severe cramping in my back that would come and go. I thought it was just back pain, so I went to bed. Well I didn't sleep at all that night because the cramping was really uncomfortable. I didn't really think the back pain were contractions because I only felt it in my back. Finally at about 10 in the morning I decided to call my sister Mindi to see what she thought. She told me it sounded like back labor and to start timing the contractions. So I started to time them and they first started out being 8 minutes apart and then they were 5 minutes apart and only getting stronger. TG and I decided to go to the hospital to get it checked out. They checked me and I was a 1+ dilated and 90 % effaced. They watched me for an hour and checked me. I hadn't made any progress, so they sent me home. That night TG's brother Tai, who plays for Utah State's basketball team, was playing against BYU at The Energy Solutions Arena. TG insisted that he stay with me, but I knew this was a game he had been looking forward to for months, so I told him to go. Daren and Mandy got me from the hospital and stayed with me at my house until TG got home from the game. They also brought me an awesome heating pad for my back pain. I honestly have the best family in the world. When TG got home, the back labor was only insensifying, so we decided to go in again to check it out. Again, I had made no progress, so they sent me home. Luckily I was able to sleep a couple hours that night because they had given me a shot to take away some of the pain. When I woke up, the contractions were very strong and 4 minutes apart. I decided to wait a little bit longer to go in because I didn't want to get sent home. Finally at 8:30 am we decided to go to the hospital. Before we went, TG made me walk up and down the stairs about 10 times in hopes it would dilate me a little more. We got to the hospital and I was dilated to a 4 and 100% effaced, so they admitted me. Once I was admitted they immediatley gave me an epidural which was a little piece of heaven. My entire family (except Mindi, Ernie, and Aiden) came to hang out with me during my labor. It took a while for me to finally dilate to a 10, so it was nice to have company. Finally at 7:00 pm I was ready to push and at 9:43 pm our beautiful little Keilani was born. I'm so thankful that I had such great nurses, doctor, and a wonderful family who made the labor process such a positive and incredible experience. Keilani is so precious and I can't believe how much love I have for her already. TG and I truly feel so blessed to have this little girl come into our lives.

She already has TG wrapped around her little finger.

The nurses put her in a stocking after they bathed her.

Thanksgiving Break

This last week was so much fun not only because it was Thanksgiving and I had a break from work, but my sister Mindi came to visit from Tennessee with her husband, Ernie and cute baby, Aiden. They stayed with us and we had a lot of fun while they were here. I can't believe how much Aiden has grown since I saw him last. I just love that boy. Here are some pictures that I took and some that I stole from Mindi's blog.

Aiden is pooped after Thanksgiving dinner.

Cute little Aiden all bundled up for Black Friday shopping in Park City.

My family and I went to Temple Square on Sunday to see the lights. It was a perfect night because it wasn't too cold.

36th Week

Okay I've been a slacker and I haven't posted anything for a couple weeks, but every time I take my camera somewhere either I forget to take pictures or I realize my batteries are dead. Here is my 36th week belly shot. I can't believe I only (hopefully) have 4 more weeks to go. I still feel like I have a million things to do before our little one comes, but I know everything will get done. I've started my weekly visits with my doctor. I had an appointment today and I am 90% effaced and dilated to a fingertip, so we'll see if I make any progress at next week's appointment.

Carving Pumpkins

The other night Chaz and Alisa came over and we carved pumpkins. TG wasn't very excited about carving pumpkins because he said that he had never carved a pumpkin before. Once TG started, he was hooked and his pumpkin turned out to be really cool. Chaz wanted to carve a picture of a witch flying on her broom. Well it didn't work as planned and the picture ended up caving in. His pumpkin was left with just a big hole in the front.

Bring on the Halloween Festivities!

We went to a Halloween Party on Saturday. I hate coming up with costume ideas, but TG had a great idea for us to be characters from the movie Juno. Of course I was Juno and TG was Juno's boyfriend. We went to all the thrift stores and sporting goods stores to try and find yellow running shorts that would fit TG. We finally found some basketball shorts that did the job.

I'm Officially Part of the Steeler Nation

I have always been a huge football fan since I was little. When I was young I liked the 49ers mostly because my mom did. I then started liking the Atlanta Falcons when Jamal Anderson was playing there. The team hasn't been the same since Vick left and I don't know how much of a fan I am anymore. TG's favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and I've always liked them, but never claimed them as my team. This season I decided that the Steelers would be my new team, though I will always be a Falcons fan at heart. It's been fun cheering for the same team as TG. When TG was in Boston he bought me a Troy Polamalu jersey, so I could officially be a Steelers fan. TG and I both put on our Steelers gear a couple weeks ago when the Steelers played the Ravens. Here are some pictures, sorry about the behind shot.

CORNBELLY'S

Last weekend TG and I went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point with Alisa and Chaz. I had never been to Cornbelly's, so I was excited to go. It was so much fun! There were a ton of things for kids to do, which worked out nicely for us because TG and Chaz are kids at heart. They have two corn mazes. One is an easier corn maze and the other one is more of a challenge. We decided to go through the easier corn maze just for a warm up. Well the corn maze wasn't easy at all. We never found the end and ended up cheating by taking the emergency exit. Oh well, corn mazes aren't really my thing anyway. I am so claustrophobic I could feel myself starting to panic when we couldn't find the end, but then we found an emergency exit, which I'm so glad they had. When we got done with the maze we saw a tractor pulling a cow train around the pumpkin patch. The ride is meant for kids, but TG was determined to have us all go on the ride. TG managed to shove his big body into one of the barrels, it was hilarious. My favorite part of the night was going on the hay ride. It was a little bumpy, but it was a nice way to end the night. Fall is such a fun time of the year.

TG in the House!

For the last 5 months TG has been out selling security systems for APX alarms. He sold in Oxnard, California for the first 4 months and then went out to Boston to sell for the last month. I didn't go out with him to Boston because I had to be in Utah to teach. TG finally got back from Boston on Wednesday. We were apart for 5 weeks, so it's nice having him back home. While he was in Boston he got to do some pretty cool things. He and a couple other guys from the office went to a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park. Then last week they traveled to Philedelphia to see their (TG, Curt, and Tika) favorite team, the Steelers, play the Eagles. They were able to get really good seats. They sat on the 26th row from the field. I am super jealous because I LOVE football and I've always wanted to go to a NFL game. Though the Steelers lost badly, TG and the guys had a blast.

We Are Officially Homeowners!!

TG and I just bought a new townhouse in Lehi. I'm only posting a picture of the outside because the inside is filled with boxes. I'll post more pictures of the inside once we've unpacked everything. My little sister Alisa and her husband Chaz live two doors down from us, so Alisa and I are excited. We're so excited to finally have a place of our own. Since TG and I have been married we have always had someone living with us. We first had his friend, Lawton from Puerto Rico, live with us on and off for about two years. We then moved to California two summers ago and lived with Lawton and TG's brother, Tika. Last summer we lived with Tika and Carli in Wyoming. Then when my brother Bryson got home from his mission he lived with us until we moved to California for the summer. It really hasn't been bad having people live with us, but I think it will be nice to have a home of our own where it's just me, TG, and our baby.
My family came and helped me move all our stuff Saturday morning. I'm so grateful to have such a supportive family who is willing to help whenever I need them. I never realized how many things we've accumulated over the years. I feel like I threw away so much, yet we still had a lot of stuff. I'm especially grateful for my older brother Daren. He is the best big brother a sister could have. With TG being out of town he has been my confidant through this whole process. I seriously don't know what I would have done without him. Thanks Daren!

Sorry for the drought

It's been a month since I last posted, but the internet at our house hasn't been working for my computer, plus nothing too exciting has been going on. School started on August 18th, which seemed way too soon. I had a nice relaxing summer and it was a little difficult getting back into the groove of teaching.

Today I am 25 weeks pregnant. I can't believe that my 2nd trimester is almost over. It's going by really fast. My favorite thing right now is feeling the baby move around inside me, it's the craziest feeling-I love it. We still haven't decided on a name for her, but we have a couple in mind. My sister, Mindi has been trying to get me to post a picture of my fat belly, so here you go.
